Visiting First Grade

Before school ended we took Grant into Mommy's classroom to introduce him to all the students and teachers. The kids were so excited to meet him! They sang him songs and asked Mrs. Caswell lots of questions about babies and when she was coming back to teach them. :)
It was so much fun to show Grant off! He slept the entire time...not surprising. He was a real hit!

Grant Lewis Caswell

I don't know if Grant is the most photographed baby in the world, but by the time we brought him home from the hospital we had about 500 pictures to load onto our computer. And the picture taking hasn't stopped since he's been home. Here are some of our favorites.

Grant's Many Faces

One of Grant's favorite things to do while nursing is fall asleep. So we (Grammy, Daddy, and I) spend a lot of time trying to wake him up. Sometimes it is nearly impossible. This was one of those times. Despite all our tickling, kissing, and talking, Grant continued to dream away. In about a minutes time, he made all of these faces as we watched and laughed.

We're Home!

We are home and enjoying Grant more and more each day. He is such a good baby! He cries only when he REALLY wants to eat. Both Paul and I are getting tons of sleep at night thanks to Grammy, who takes over after each feeding. We can't wait until things get into a routine around here and we can have you all over to meet Grant. Right now our lives revolve around feeding time, and we are loving it! :)

Going Home

Grant came home on Thursday, May 21st, with an entourage of Mom and Dad, two Aunties, and both sets of Grandparents. He fell asleep for his first car ride, but woke up once we got home. We have settled in very well with the help of all our family.

Our Stay at the Hospital

We had a wonderful experience at the hospital with Grant's birth. All of our nurses were wonderful, especially our friend Keilah :). It was fun to have so many of you come to visit while we were there. I realized afterwards that I should have gotten pictures of all Grant's visitors. I even forgot to have you sign his baby book! Oops...oh well! We only stayed one night at the hospital. There was a little concern about Grant's blood sugar because his hands and lips kept shaking, but after a few tests throughout the first day they determined that he was fine. Praise the Lord for a healthy baby boy and a short stay at the hospital!

Our baby has arrived!!!

Grant Lewis Caswell was born May 20, 2009 at Rogue Valley Medical Center at 2:57 pm. He was 7lbs 9oz and 19" at birth. He and his mom are very healthy! He hasn't even cried yet - that will probably come soon though. Let us know when ya'll want to come change a poopie diaper.
