After giving Grant rice cereal for about a month and a half, we decided to try some other "solids". (I don't know why they call them solids, they are actually pureed and not solid at all.) The first thing we tried was avocado. He did not like that at all! He would gag whenever we gave it to him. Then we tried sweet potatoes. He thought those were pretty good. The latest though is banana. He absolutely loves banana! He can't get enough of them. He practically climbs out of his seat trying to get to them while I am mashing them up. Then he opens his mouth SO wide and makes noises like he will die if he doesn't get them soon. It is so funny! The pictures don't nearly do justice to the experience of feeding him bananas. Now the only problem is going to be getting him to eat anything else!

Birthdays and Kisses
This week Paul and I both celebrated our birthdays. It was fun being parents on our birthday for the first time. Grant was a part of both celebrations.
Daddy's surprise party at Roadhouse...the big 3-0!
Mommy's birthday dinner at Kaleidoscope...only 28 :)
Grant is learning how to "kiss" (at least that's what we are calling it).

Halloween Weekend
We had a absolutely gorgeous Halloween weekend in Northern California with our friends, the Allreds and the Millers. We all stayed in the Allred's cabin along the Scott River. The weather was so beautiful, and we had a wonderful time hanging out with great company playing games and eating yummy food. On Halloween day Grant decided that he was not going to nap all day! He finally conked out while we were trick-or-treating. The Allred's cabin is basically in the middle of nowhere, so needless to say, there wasn't any place for the kids to actually trick-or-treat. The dads were creative and hid in some sheds and storage buildings for the kids to come knock on. It was so much fun, and Grant looked so cute in his hotdog costume!
